We, at LCIP, are interested in bringing about awareness and knowledge about the treatability of Lymphedema in India. Treatment of lymphedema and its associated lymphatic and venous disorders is both possible and rewarding. Our work and experience in this field has proved that this disease can be effectively managed and allows the patient to live a normal life.
Currently, little is known about Lymphedema and it is our mission to spread awareness regarding its causes and therapy options to patients and to the medical community in India. This is currently an ongoing effort and any suggestions/comments regarding the same are welcome.
A larger effort is the need of the hour and for that we are looking for support mainly in the form of interested NGOs, corporates interested for their CSR responsibilities as well as Governments both at the centre as well as in the states where these diseases are endemic.

Who We Are

We are a team of specialists providing expertise through an integrated approach in the ambulatory setting for these conditions. With experience gained over 20 years of continuous patient care, accompanied by research as well as product development, our team has developed a unique and successful model of patient care which is replicable on a large scale. We assist the setting up of such centres in other places.
_Centres where we have provided such training and support include_

• AIIMS, New Delhi - A voluntary clinic in the Department of Surgical Disciplines was set up in 2011 and had treated over 2000 patients till just before COVID. Three clinical trials of various treatment methodologies were conducted.
• Goa Medical College - multiple workshops and training sessions done in partnership with the Department of Plastic Surgery
• AIIMS Bhubaneswar - multiple workshops and training sessions done in partnership with the Department of Plastic Surgery
• Sitaram Bhartia Hospital - (recently started)
• AVIS Hospitals, Hyderabad

Our Team

Our consultant surgeon Dr S B Gogia completed his MBBS and MS from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in 1982. His thesis was on lymphoedema therapy . He started practice as a general and plastic surgeon in 1984. In 1985 a small clinic was setup in Rajouri Garden New Delhi.
Sanwari Bai Surgical Centre was established in 1990 as an ambulatory office suite with 3 recovery beds. We largely treat problems pertaining to Lymphology, Hand Surgery and Cosmetic Surgery. Lymphedema services were initiated in 1995 and since then he has been treating lymphoedema patients, from all over the country
Our therapist and founder Mrs Arun Rekha Gogia has been working with lymphoedema patients since 1990. She has also completed a certification course in Complete Decongestive Therapy from Klose Training Programme.

What We Do

We run an ambulatory day care centre with facilities for surgery. In this facility, we provide quality treatment solutions for patients suffering from various lymphatic and venous conditions.using the entire range of procedures required for Lymphedema, like Comprehensive Decongestive Therapy (CDT), counselling and surgery. Our outcomes are well documented due to the presence of a lymphedema specific Electronic Medical Record System. Patients come from all over the country. We are also involved in the training of medical personnel from other centres to help physicians and hospitals set-up their own, independent limb care centers.

Indications we treat

We treat a number of indications through various means. The treatment of each patient is dependent on the type and stage of his condition. We encourage home based self care with long term maintenance and support through Telemedicine. The types of indications we treat are:

• Filarial Lymphoedema
• Post-mastectomy lymphoedema
• Lymphedema following Gynaecologic and Cancers
• Lymphedema of the Penis, Scrotum and Vulva
• Chronic Ulcers of the limb.
• Venous edema
• Idiopathic edema
• Congenital disorders like KT Syndrome, Milroy's disease and others
• Lipedema
• DVT Prophylaxis
• Post-phlebitic syndrome
• Diabetic foot
• Paralytic edema
